The Crackerjack Lectures
Crackerjack Lectures are 20-minute student-run presentations that provide our department with an opportunity to connect and learn more about the current research performed among our peers. These sessions provide students with a platform for practicing their public speaking, the development of necessary presentation skills and the added benefit of obtaining feedback from our very own scientific community. In addition, a committee of faculty members and students will be selecting a winner for the G. Vladimersson Award for the best student presentation. It’s a $100 cash prize and a great award to have under your belt. Presenting at the Crackerjack Seminar fulfills the PhD speaking requirement.
If you would like to participate in the Crackerjack series, please contact our Crackerjack Coordinator, Stephanie Thompson (thomps29@myumanitoba.ca). Don't be shy, we'd love to hear from you! It's a great opportunity to engage your peers and learn about some of the excellent work being done in the department, as well as elsewhere at the university.
Crackerjack Lectures will be held Friday afternoons from 3:00-4:00 pm IN PERSON in Buller 207.
